Click here for 2008 SAVS & LADIES DrawNizels ladies section runs both singles and pairs knockout competitions in the summer, and a pairs knockout during the winter. These are match play competitions, with the pairs format usually being greensomes. The pairs are drawn for the Summer Knockout with a lower handicap lady being drawn with a higher handicap lady where possible. For greensomes competitions the handicap allowance is 3/8ths of the difference of the combined handicaps to a maximum of 15 shots. Sign-up sheets for the summer competitions are usually posted in March with the draw taking place in April. The final of both the summer singles and pairs competitions are always played on Finals Day - usually the last Saturday in September - and competitors should make sure they will be available to play on Finals Day before entering the competitions.
In the Winter Pairs Knockout you may choose your own partner. The sign-up sheet is usually posted in September with the draw taking place in October. The format may be American Greensomes.
You must pay the entrance fee - currently £5 per player - when you sign up for the knockout competitions.
Cups and/or prizes for the knockout competitions are presented to the winners at the annual Presentation Evening Dinner held in November.

EclecticsNizels ladies run Eclectic Competitions in the Summer and Winter. These are held for two divisions, usually handicaps 0 - 20 and 21 - 36, with prizes being awarded for both the best Gross score and best Nett score at the Spring and Autumn Meetings.
To enter the competitions you simply pay the entry fee - currently £3 - and sign your name on the appropriate Eclectic sheet. You may enter up to 12 cards which must be marked by a lady with a current handicap. These cards may be during qualifying competitions or during social play. Whenever you better your score on a hole, update the Eclectic sheet, clearly mark your card with an 'E' and place your card, signed by both player and marker, in the ladies card box. In qualifying competitions where the Computer Self-Input System is running, you will have an option to enter your score for the eclectic competition if you wish to do so. Winners are those with lowest scores recorded, both gross and less 5/8ths of your handicap in the Nett Eclectic.
For any queries regarding the Eclectic Competition, please contact the competition organiser - usually the Handicap Secretary.
These competitions are organised by the Men's Section for both mixed pairs (you select your own partner) and husband & wife/partner. Check the men's notice board for details.
During the summer months a SAVS & Ladies American Foursomes knockout competition is run.
Please make sure you pay the entry fee as soon as you sign up.
The Birdie Tree and Partridge tree competitions run over the whole year with prizes awarded at the Autumn Meeting. The Birdie Tree winner is the lady who achieves the most birdies (or eagles!) over the year in competitions. The computer calculates the birdies and a list is regularly posted by the Handicap Secretary.
The Partridge Tree is similar but is for ladies with a handicap of 30 or over, but in this case the pars (or birdies) must recorded, and countersigned by the marker, in the Partridge Tree book.
As with other competitions, the entry fee - currently £3 - must be paid at the start of the competition.
