LADIES MORNINGS

Ladies Mornings are every Wednesday with tee times reserved from 7.45 to 11.15 am. Once you have a handicap you are welcome to join in our monthly Medal and Stableford competitions, as well as other club competitions. If you do not have a handicap you can still play on a Wednesday morning but you will not be able to enter the competitions. Social mornings are held regularly - at least once a month - and any member may join in and play a social round of golf.

WEEKENDS - Business Ladies Section

Special arrangements exist for playing in the monthly Medal Competitions at weekends. To do this please contact the Weekend Co-ordinator or see the notice board.
There are monthly weekend Stableford competitions, which any 7-day lady member with a handicap may play in.

MEDALS AND EXTRA MEDALS

There is usually one Medal competition every month although occasionally an Extra Medal may be played in a month.  A sign-up sheet will be posted on the notice board in the ladies' changing room usually 4 to 6  weeks before the competition - please enter your name and handicap.

Medals are drawn in handicap bands - depending on the the number of entries this is usually three groups with bands of 0-20, 21-29 and 30-36 approximately. Players names are drawn within these groups, the lower 'handicaps' teeing off first. If you can only play at a certain time, please make a note on the sign up sheet but please be aware that although we try to accommodate these requests, this is not always possible.  The final list is usually posted 2 weeks before competition date for members to check tee times and their playing partners.

STABLEFORD COMPETITIONS

Sign up for the Stableford competitions following any instructions on the sign-up sheet.  Again, lists are usually posted 4 to 6 weeks before the competition date.

In Stableford Competitions the total points count towards your handicap not your gross score. If you are in any doubt about your points, just enter the score per hole - the computer calculates your Stableford points. Please pick up when you have no shots left on any hole - 8 is the maximum score for any handicap

CLUB COMPETITIONS

These include competitions with cups such as the Charity Cup, Rose Bowl, Grandmothers' purse, Club Championship, Grand Prix etc. These are club competitions and if members wish to enter they must be prepared to play on Ladies Day tee times (7.45-11.15 a.m. on Wednesdays).

Please note that weekend ladies may still play the Grand Prix and LGU Pendant Medal Competitions at the weekend.

For all competitions and events with prizes you must ensure that you have played in four qualifying competitions throughout the year to maintain your handicap and that you have entered cards through the summer months to ensure that your handicap reflects your current standard of play. Entry as Medal and Extra Medal as above.

SOCIAL EVENTS WITH PRIZES

This includes Spring and Autumn Meetings, Captain's Day and Invitation Day. Please note that if you wish to enter these Competitions you MUST pay by the closing date displayed on the sign up list in the ladies changing room and not on the day of the competition.

Members signing up for these competitions should know that they are paying for a meal and also a percentage towards the cost of Prizes. These Prizes have to be purchased in advance, therefore if members sign up and then have to cancel after the closing date, a nominal fee is payable towards Prizes. Please let the Captain know if you are cancelling so that arrangements can be made for play and your meal cancelled. If this is not done, then you must be prepared to pay for the whole event.

FRIENDLY CLUB MATCHES

For Club Matches - either Ladies or Mixed - members are expected to stay for the meal afterwards unless there are extenuating circumstances. This must be agreed with the Captain of the Day beforehand so that your meal can be cancelled. Members should realise that the money payable is a Match Fee and not Match Tea. Remember we are entertaining our guests or being entertained by them.

Everyone is welcome to play - don't wait to be asked - just put your name on the sign up list. You are expected to be willing to play in both Home and Away matches.

If a member fails to turn up for Major Club Competitions or Club Matches, without having previously cancelled and notified the Match Secretary, the committee may decide that they will not be allowed to enter competitions or Club Matches for one month, commencing from the date of no show.
